Google IO 2021: How to watch from India, expected announcements and more

The three-day Google IO 2021 developer conference starts tonight. From May 18 to May 20, Google will be announcing several new products across vicarious categories including Android, Chrome, Google Assistant, Google apps, and we are also expecting a couple of new hardware product launches.

Google IO 2021 is happening after two years after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic. The Google IO 2021 will start off with a keynote which will be delivered by CEO Sundar Pichai. During the Google keynote, Sundar Pichai is expected to announce updates on Android 12. Although we don’t have confirmed information, we might also see the launch of Pixel Buds A and Google Pixel 5a.

So, if you are a fan of Google IO event, Android, or Google’s products lineup, it will be worth staying awake for a couple of hours extra than usual. Watching Google IO 2021 Keynote is a pretty easy task.

Google IO 2021 expected announcements

This time around, Google IO 2021 is expected to bring some significant product announcements. The start of the show will likely be Android 12 as the next Android version is expected to roll out today, in a public beta format.

In terms of hardware, the Google Pixel 5a is one of the two we are expecting. The Pixel 5a will be the successor to the Pixel 4a with some improvements. Pixel Buds A will presumably improve on the company's last true wireless earbuds. A couple of weeks back, an accidental tweet revealed the existence of the buds.

Lastly, WearOS is confirmed to get an update at the IO 2021. With Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series expected to come with WearOS, we are expecting some big announcements on the wearable segment from Google.

Apart from the aforementioned products and services, we can expect updates on some other apps like Google Maps, Search, Photos, and Google Assistant. Google might also announce some new hardware under Nest portfolio.
