Smartphones under Rs 7,000 in India is not the most popular or most demanding segment. However, there is still a fair amount of interest and users are looking to buy a cheap phone for aged persons or for children's educational purpose. While there are not many launches that happened in the past few months in this segment, there are a handful of options available right now in India. 

Once the GST rates got hiked last year and the production was slowed down due to lockdown, the smartphones under Rs 7,000 almost became void. We now have about five smartphones on the list which are all priced under Rs 7,000.

The current list of best smartphones under Rs 7,000 consists of phones from Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, Micromax, and Infinix. The list is lead by Redmi 9A. The Realme C20 is the latest addition to the list launched in April 2021. 

The phones under Rs 7,000 are entry-level smartphones that will serve the basic purpose for a person. You can buy if you are light users who like to watch some YouTube videos, use a couple of chat apps, and make calls. We also advise you to not install too many apps on board as the performance could take a hit here. Micromax made its comeback to the Indian market last year. Banking on Indian sentiment, the brand has created quite a buzz and the Micromax In 1b is the cheapest among the two budget phones launched by the company. The company also provides clean Android 10 software which is rare in this price point. 

The Micromax In 1b sports a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS screen with 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. Initially launched at Rs 5,999, the device now costs Rs 500 more. The Infinix Smart HD 2021 offers a 6.1-inch HD+ display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio A20 chipset. You get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which should be enough for basic tasks. You also get a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. On the inside is a 5000mAh battery. 

On to the optics, the device flaunts a single camera setup and dual-LED flash on the rear in a square module. There is an 8MP primary shooter with f/2.0 aperture. To the front, you get a 5MP(f/2.0) selfie snapper. Other features include Android 10 OS based on XOS 6.2. Dual nano-SIM, VoLTE, VoWiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and DTS surround sound.
